I began with the Intel drivers but couldn't run the download—it keeps reporting an error. I'm not very comfortable with Linux, so I'm unsure why it's happening. To clarify, I can use and have used the old, inexpensive laptop for work files on a USB drive, but I'm having trouble getting them to appear in Windows. The Windows installer mentioned this issue. Avoid executing the downloaded .exe file. Instead, transfer it to your USB drive.

I'm testing the intel drivers. The motherboard drivers I located were all in a compressed file, but I couldn't get it to function with those.

To have Ubuntu identify zip files, you might need to install ZIP first (run the command sudo apt install zip unzip) or use the Ubuntu app store. You should unpack the files into a folder on your USB drive. The Windows installer probably won’t recognize .zip files.

I really dislike this fingering technique. I was logged into the LLT forums on my laptop to avoid switching devices and get replies faster, but I marked your comment as the solution three times before I could hit reply. I’ll give it another shot next time. Thanks for updating me later.

I attempted this but it didn’t work. The Intel and Gigabyte sites are providing an installer to run, which will handle the drivers, but I’m having trouble launching it on Linux. The Windows installer isn’t recognizing it, and the raw files inside the application file aren’t registering correctly.
