I have components for my latest setup: RAM – G.Skill Neo RGB White 64 GB – F5-6000J3636F32GX2-TZ5NRW CPU – 9950x3d Motherboard. As instructed, placed the RAM in slots A2 and B2; the DRAM indicator illuminated and displayed a C5 fault. Updated the BIOS via q-flash, but the problem persisted. Tested single sticks in A2 – same fault. Then tried B2, red LED flashed briefly before shutting off and showing Ad (ready) for both. No drive connected yet. Next, I placed RAM in B1 and received a 46 fault, consistently appearing regardless of configuration. After posting Ad, the VGA indicator stayed on. I reset CMOS and reflashed BIOS; CPU remains installed. Now I see code 21 on cold boot, then code 46 afterward – no longer reaches Ad as before. I also noticed the VGA light stayed active. After a reset using the jumper and BIOS update, only A2 RAM worked again, displaying C5. I attempted clearing CMOS, installing an AIO for pressure relief, and re-seating RAM sticks in correct positions. Single stick in A2 triggered 15 then C5. Dual in A2/B2 produced FF and then C5.
Edit 2: After several more CMOS clears and proper RAM placement, I could boot into OS only with B1 and B2 slots. I ran a memtest to check for memory errors – no issues found. USB ports and connections function properly. Processor idles between 45-48 with L-Connect active, reaching 96 on Cinebench – other components seem normal. However, using A1 or A2 consistently results in C5 errors; dual slots produce FF then C5.
Edit 3: I took the device back to the seller to verify the problem. They had a 9950x instead of an AM5, checked for bent pins, and the A1/A2 slots worked. I received a replacement and sent the faulty chip for RMA – it appears to be a memory controller failure, though rare. From an installation standpoint, I followed standard procedures: installed CPU correctly, tightened AIO gradually, applied minimal thermal paste, and confirmed no bent pins during re-seat. Shared a photo with an Aorus expert on Reddit; no pin issues were reported.
Last resort: I’m considering an RMA, but given the time involved, are there any DIY steps I could attempt? I don’t have spare parts on hand. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks ahead.
Resolved my problems by returning parts to the seller, who replaced the processor. During testing at their location, we found the A1 slot wasn’t working and obtained a new motherboard. It took a few months, but the seller’s RMA handling made it possible and now everything is functioning. Aiming for strong Cinbench scores with optimal temperatures.
