I work with 3D software and require significant storage space. I’m considering an 8 TB HDD to replace my current setup, which includes two 1 TB HDDs and some SSDs. My case is already full, and it can’t accommodate more drives. My original idea was to swap one of the 1 TB drives, but I’d rather keep a fully working drive. I don’t want to buy a new NAS since I lack technical skills. I might be able to purchase a dual-bay WD or Synology drive, though connecting it via Ethernet to my router is tricky. I recalled there are cases designed for long-term internal hard drives, but I haven’t found them on Amazon—I’m unsure if they’re reliable. What should I do?

You can connect an external hard drive adapter easily. Simply use any hard drive you prefer and plug it into the USB port. This method is straightforward and works well.

I’d be happy to sell it. The cost of the purchase plus the savings from skipping the adapter could cover a 10 TB storage device.
