Just finished assembling my computer and everything looks fine, the BIOS is working properly. However, when trying to download the Win10 installer onto my USB drive, it doesn’t recognize that I already have one installed. It also shows no available space on my computer, ignoring the USB and saying “x” instead of letting me choose it. I need some guidance since I’m stuck and can’t use the device.

It shouldn’t be this way. The file isn’t supposed to go to the USB drive. I need it on my computer, but it refuses to save and tries to install the installer without letting me choose where.

That is real great idea - download Windows installation iso to usb and unpack it to the same USB drive. Sorry, it not work that way. You must have space for download and then prepare USB (which will be formatted, so you cannot download installation file directly to your USB). But sure - assume that you have two USB drives - you can download ISO from Microsoft website by using browser plugin called "user agent switcher" (or similar) and set it to Android (for example). This way you'll be able to download ISO directly from Microsoft website without downloading their Creation Tool. And if your browser is setup proper way (to ask where you want to download stuff), you'll be able to download that ISO directly to your USB. But then you'll need Rufus that may want to have extra room for unpack that ISO and... Sorry, how big is your C drive so you cannot made space? Delete few not important files or just use disk cleanup, or just disable virtual memory (or limit it) for time you need to create USB and you'll be fine. You can always use your existing win10 system, plug your current drive to your new computer and boot. Lot of options if you're really want any advices.

You can achieve this using Chrome's built-in features without any plugins.

You shouldn't do that. With two USB drives having free space, you can use one for installing ISO files and mounting tools (like Rufus or Etcher) and another to create a bootable image for the target device. The type of destination—CD, DVD, or USB—doesn't change the process. The device still needs to be formatted and mounted properly. If your USB is large enough, you can even partition it.
