Huawei is acting odd again. Can you assign the LAN IP address 192.168.1.254? I think they treat segments and subnets the same, which might prevent this change. If it fails, check whether setting up a static route from the main router is feasible.

Check if it works, I'll attempt .253. Main router gateway is 192.168.1.254.

Noted, the issue seems to be with the static routes on the ISP device.

I plan to use the static route setting. If it fails, could the Huawei device be interfering?

The typical reaction to AP or bridge mode is that the device acts as another LAN client. You can assign static IPs or allow the upstream router to manage them via DHCP. When moving between subnets (such as from 192.168.1.x to 192.168.3.x), you usually need static routes configured unless they are automatically set up. Connecting to the AX3 should let you reach the 192.168.1.x network directly without needing predefined routes.

From the Huawei device I can reach all the way to the main router, though not the reverse. It's getting late now, so I'll give it a shot based on your advice. Thank you for your time and assistance—it means a lot.

Based on my small knowledge of an Honor Router 3 (possibly still using Huawei technology), Huawei’s AP Mode setup is quite unusual. They turned off most Ethernet ports except the one designated for AP mode, which is different from how other routers typically function.
