I can assist with configuring a second router. Let me know what specific steps you need help with!
Hi , I hope you are having a good day, I need help with a second router I purchased. The main router is the isp one , it's default gateway is 192.168.1.254 The second one it's a Huawei ax3 pro and it's default gateway is 192.168.3.1 This is connected via Ethernet to lan 1 of the main router and to the wan port. What in trying to achieve here is to get to the second router main page through the PC connected to the first one via Ethernet. I've set the second router to bridge (AP) , but I can't reach it . The default gateway is still the same. And If I let it as dhcp there's no option ( at least I don't see it) to disable it and put an static IP in order to see it from the main router. Can anyone please help me? Thanks.
They operate on separate subnets, meaning routing rules need adjustment unless you configure specific policies. In AX3's local network, switching off DHCP requires enabling it in AP mode. Assign a static IP directly or let it auto-assign via the upstream primary router, which is simpler. The IP details should appear in the primary router's client list.
Sure, I placed the AX3 in bridge mode and it appears in the main router's connected devices list, but I'm having trouble accessing it. Here are some screenshots for reference.
Connect the Ethernet uplink to the LAN port of the AX3 and restart it.
Completed the task but I’m still having trouble getting to the AX3 default screen. It seems the IP addresses differ—can’t connect unless I use Wi-Fi through my smartphone linked to the Ax3’s network. I can’t set up a PC connection via Ethernet to the main router either.
Connect the Ethernet cable from the main router to the WAN port of the AX3 and reset it to default settings. Restart the setup wizard, selecting “Bridge (AP)” as your internet mode. Ensure your client device remains linked to the AX3 during the process. Once connected, can you still access the internet?
Thank you, I followed the instructions and performed the factory reset, but the issue persists. I’m still unable to connect the ax3 router via my main PC linked to the ISP router. Also, the ax3 is currently in bridge mode.
It seems the AX3 model lacks a dedicated configuration page for LAN or WAN IP setup during bridge mode.
It exists, but consider what occurs when I reuse the same IP assigned by the primary router for the ax3 device.
