It’s not feasible to upgrade directly from Windows 10 Home 64-bit to Windows 7 64-bit for free. Such a transition would require significant system changes and is not supported by Microsoft. You’d need to downgrade Windows 10 to a compatible version first, which isn’t straightforward or free. Consider alternative options like upgrading to a supported Windows version or using virtualization tools.

Requires a Windows 7 activation key. Transitioning from Windows 7 to 10 is possible, but not backward. For a fresh setup, consider updating to Windows 10 directly.

Many people agreed similar to others that using Windows 7 without a key isn't possible anymore. It's also less supported now, even though it reached its end-of-life in 2020. The reason for downgrading might be the Start Menu or installing an older shell. If you don't like Windows, there are many better alternatives available.

I had a bad time with Windows 10 and am considering going back to Windows 7 since I’ve never faced any issues with it before. It’s clear that Windows 10 has been much more troublesome for me compared to Windows 7.

Besides the exciting features, security, and quick solutions for your problems, I get it. You’d need to somehow locate a valid Windows 7 key—or use one for 30 days before being scolded into buying a new version—and then face the consequences of your PC locking you out. Make sure to save all your data, as it won’t transfer. It’s pretty simple to find an old laptop’s key somewhere, or... Spoiler online

If you own a Windows 10 Pro, you may have downgrade privileges. You can apply the Windows key in Windows 7 Pro. See the Dell support article for details on your rights and how to downgrade from Windows 8, 81, or 10.

Yes, it does involve quite a bit of movement and several phone calls. Additionally, they assert they offer Windows 10 Home.

I used to run Windows 10 Pro until I replaced my boot drive and erased the old one, which made me have to go back home.
