I tried to connect the cables, but I accidentally damaged a pin while reinserting them. It's been too long since I sent it back. Do you have any options left, or should I assume I'm stuck?

the annoying USB 3 connectors seeming to break when viewed incorrectly... this isn't an issue with the motherboard itself, just that whatever you connect into that header is missing one connection (for example, +5v on one port... so in theory, plugging a powered hub into that port won't affect it.)

The USB A connection is connected via the USB A port. The USB C interface needs its own dedicated slot on the motherboard, only slightly shown in the image you shared.

It might be a coincidence if the USB-C connection uses a separate header, meaning you could have found a USB-A port on another side of that header. A header typically connects two USB-A devices.
