CPU model is i5 6600k, motherboard MSI Z170A, RAM 16GB, GPU RTX 3070, SSD Samsung 850 EVO 500GB. Yesterday I ran Classic WoW on one screen and OSRS on another, but random freezes occurred. After updating drivers and restarting, the issue persisted, possibly due to drivers or a restart. Today it froze severely enough to force shutdown, then partially recovered. I encountered stuttering, texture loading problems, and a complete crash that left only the BIOS screen with a drive error prompt. After a BIOS reset, the SSD wasn’t listed as a boot option, but using F11 to access boot menu worked. Windows performed a long drive repair, which took ages, and after restarting, I logged back in but faced issues: taskbar displayed only the start icon, no programs launched automatically, and the bottom-right panel showed only the NVIDIA control panel. Despite these problems, I could still use the computer—Windows Explorer, Chrome, OSRS worked except for a blank taskbar that stayed over videos. About two hours later, during a movie, the system fully booted, wallpaper engine activated, taskbar returned to normal, and all programs started. Now I’m playing both games and watching YouTube without any stuttering or freezing for hours. What happened? My SSD reports 68% health in CrystalDiskInfo, yet everything seems damaged. I have no certainty if it will happen again.

When uncertain, I simply swap out drives. A key indicator of potential issues is excessive disk usage, along with abnormal read/write speeds in Task Manager. It seems the drive might be damaged or failing.
