I recently tested performance at 4.99 GHz with stable gaming. Then I increased it to 5 GHz but used a slightly higher FSB.
For the 4-core FX 4350, the required voltage is 1.65625V, around 1.65V plus. Running at full speed after 10 High runs of IBT 2.54 AVX on a weak Nepton 280L feels extreme—my cooler and CPU would likely fail in an hour. Fluke reports CPU1_13V draws 190W.
Could the voltage reading be incorrect?
Considering vdroop, the CPU-Z reading seems quite accurate. It's probably safe to lower the base voltage and raise the LLC in BIOS to make up for it. Still, it might be too much, especially with 75°C temperatures, so the chip likely won't last very long under those conditions.
