I’m just getting started with PC building. I’ve assembled two machines, and the first one performed perfectly. When I upgraded the motherboard—thanks to my brother’s expertise—I encountered issues where the system would shut down unexpectedly. After several attempts to troubleshoot, we identified the motherboard as the problem. A year later, when I built another PC, the same issue resurfaced. I’m unsure if this is common or if I made a mistake, and I’d really appreciate any guidance you can offer.
I also don’t understand how to share this since I’ve never used this platform before.
Could be due to several factors—are you wearing an anti-static wristband during the work? What kind of power supply and additional parts were connected to the system that experienced these problems?
The configuration includes a Gigabyte B365M motherboard, an Intel Core i3 9100F processor with stock cooler, 8GB Corsair Vengeance LPX RAM, a 500W Thermaltske Smart power supply, and no GPU yet. Let me know if you need anything else.
At first we tried the new power supply to check if it caused the issue, but nothing else seemed to be the cause. When we received the updated unit, the problem persisted. I didn’t have an anti-static wristband at the time, so I was extra cautious. The specifications I mentioned in a previous reply were relevant.
