I checked the performance of Far Cry 4 on my setup. It ran at around 15 to 20 frames per second, especially with lower settings and resolution. I’m wondering if it’s possible to boost the frame rate to at least 30 FPS with some adjustments or tweaks. Thanks in advance!
I own a machine with nearly identical specifications (HP DV6, i7 2670qm, 8GB DDR3, Radeon 6770M 2GB DDR5, SSD) and it really struggled with FC4 recently. At first, it looked like the CPU was limiting performance below 30fps. Once I increased settings slightly and enabled Reshade effects, frame rates improved noticeably without a significant drop. Even at very low custom resolutions with Reshade on, the game remained playable. Far Cry titles seem especially taxing on the CPU, and these older Sandy Bridge mobile GPUs appear to have limited clock speeds.
