I am unable to install the game onto the hard drive due to a hardware limitation.
I’m new to this forum and feeling quite distressed regarding an issue I’ve encountered. I recently assembled a computer consisting of one 500GB SSD and one 2TB HDD. My intention was to utilize the SSD for applications and the HDD specifically for gaming and work files. However, when attempting to extract game files onto the HDD, the process became stuck. Upon examining driver status within Task Manager, it became apparent that no data was being transferred to the HDD. Does anyone possess an explanation or potential resolution to this problem? I attempted installing the same game on my laptop, which has a single 1TB SSD, and the installation proceeded without issue.
I have not attempted to install supplementary programs, yet I am able to duplicate files into it without issue.
The game casts a long shadow, this device operates flawlessly, it is entirely fresh and, as I previously indicated, I am able to move files both into and out of it.

I am having trouble installing a game onto my hard drive; it’s stuck in the unpacking stage. I’ve checked the installation logs, and it seems to be failing due to permissions or possibly an issue with the installer itself. I'm encountering this problem on a secondary HDD. Could anyone offer assistance or suggest potential solutions?
I attempted to install the FitGirl Shadow of the Tomb Raider game onto my personal computer’s secondary 2TB HDD, however, the process became stuck during the unpacking phase, and no files were subsequently transferred to the HDD. This represents my initial experience utilizing a secondary storage drive; I typically operate with a single 1TB SSD as my primary device. I attempted installation on my standard laptop (utilizing a single SSD) and it completed successfully. Could someone offer some guidance regarding potential causes for this issue?
The distribution of unauthorized copies of video games, such as “FitGirl,” which utilizes modified archives to bypass anti-piracy measures, is illegal and ethically questionable. Tom’s Hardware does not endorse or support the acquisition of software through illegitimate channels. Individuals engaging in such activities assume full responsibility for their actions. This discussion is concluded.
