Started up this morning. Need to check if the 11900k overclocked 5.2 works. Entered BIOS, set offset voltage to +0.1. After powering on, I switched on CPU-Z and saw the voltage at 1.7V. Right away I powered off the machine. Core temp on AIDA64 spiked to 60-70°C, so I shut it down. Re-tried offset mode—no programs running at 1.7V for a short time is okay. Will this affect the CPU? Also, my cooldown is now EK AIO Elite 360D-RGB.

it seems like the situation isn't as clear-cut as it appears. If it's a brief spike, maybe running it near 2v while idling in Windows could cause slight issues after a few cycles. However, a single 1.7v session lasting only a minute doesn’t seem to affect performance noticeably. I’ve tested 1.94v vtt on my W3503 with DDR3 for over 3300 hours and still see stable results. It’s possible the CPU is just acting differently rather than degrading. On my i7 930, I can run at 1.82-1.87v and still hit 3300 without problems, even after multiple attempts. That suggests the issue might be with the RAM or board rather than the CPU itself. I’m not sure if newer chips are truly fragile at 1.7v, but the Xeons seem more stable than I expected. The XTX 45nm chip with a voltage-tolerant DDR3 IC works well, though it doesn’t mean newer hardware is inherently weak.
