It's a wire board; the PC recognizes it, the built-in Ethernet port is turned off, and the drivers were saved from a CD that came with the board.

You might also clear the installed drivers, restart the device, and allow the operating system to reinstall them automatically. This can help restore the system to its original state if the issue persists. If this doesn't work, you'll need to search for the appropriate drivers based on your card and OS and retry the process.

Windows appears more capable than it seems; in some gadgets I’ve had to add drivers myself because the newest versions just won’t function. I prefer the design of Windows 10, though I’m not completely satisfied with it.

I believe you've already attempted several fixes: removing drivers, rebooting, clearing the card, restarting again, then reinstalling both drivers and the board. It seems unlikely the issue lies with the cable, especially since it functions properly on your PS4.

Do you have Windows 10 installed? Could we retrieve the motherboard and NIC model numbers?

I'm currently offline, so I can't review the specifications.

Make sure we stay updated. Affordable network cards may not function properly with Windows 10.

I don’t recall much beyond that it’s just a LAN cable board from D-Link.

Getting the model numbers helps us assess whether the problem is related to driver compatibility. Listening to D-Link isn't helpful at first. They don’t have a strong reputation in the networking community.
