I don't aim to create unstable spin-up states for my GPU. I prefer stability and want to avoid any impact from overclocking. What temperature would be ideal for me?

Others might have different views, but GPUs are much more responsive to overclocking than CPUs, so my advice is to opt for liquid cooling or stick with stock, especially with a high-end model. Now if the system was older and you were running smoothly but wanted a bit more speed, I’d recommend it.

Some might have different ideas, but GPUs are much more responsive to overclocking than CPUs. In my view, it’s best to use liquid cooling or stick with stock if you’re getting a top-of-the-line model. If the device was older and you were running cool but wanted extra speed, I’d recommend going for it. Can I overclock it without any concerns?

It's like a CPU's performance depends on luck, offering either plenty of headroom or none at all. If you're planning to start with 10mhz and monitor temperatures, what version are you using? Your 970 should handle it well.

It's likely EVGA includes overclocking in its warranty. I've pushed my clock to +120 and +140, 110% power, and kboost enabled. I can reach around 1.5ghz on certain games, though it doesn't always stay stable, so I prefer the clock I shared.

It seems EVGA includes overclocking in its warranty. I've pushed my clock to +120, +140, 110% power, and kboost. I can reach around 1.5ghz on certain games, though it's not fully stable, so I'm sticking with the clock I shared. Do you mean you'll keep it stock for better safety?

It's like the CPU, it depends on the draw. You might have a lot of headroom or none at all. Starting with 10mhz and checking temperatures seems smart. What are your thoughts? Your 970 should handle it well. Should I overclock it or not? Let me know.

It's a minor performance boost, particularly at 1080p. It runs smoother when I overclock it, achieving 144-146fps in Metro 2033. At higher overclocks, I see 156-158fps, but the monitor automatically shuts down, forcing me to restart Windows. I was concerned about this. Tomb Raider doesn't meet my expectations for 60fps+ on Ultra at 1920x1080, which made me think about overclocking my GPU.

don't need to push such high frame rates. if your monitor runs at 60hz, you can sync and maintain a steady 60fps, which works well. for tomb raider, it's designed for amd gpus, so try turning off the other settings and see if you can keep over 60fps.
