I aim to downgrade my CPU
I’ve never done overclocking before, but I’m not keen on it. What I care about is keeping temperatures low and having a very quiet system, likely by reducing the CPU speed. I have no idea how to do this or what settings to use. Reading online articles only confuses me.
I own a Ryzen 5 2600x and an ASUS ROG B450-i.
My goal is to reach around 45°C during idle and stay under 50°C while browsing the internet without needing to turn fans on at medium speed if possible.
If you seek a calm setup, identify the source of the sound.
Insert a paper tube near your ear and pay attention.
The disturbance likely comes from moving components.
Typically, fans spinning faster than necessary.
It’s possible the graphics card is the main culprit.
Rather than adjusting voltages, you might restrict your PC’s performance in Task Manager or Power Options.
Adjust the maximum performance limit from 100% to around 80%.
Be cautious—pursuing silence may lead nowhere.
45C runs smoothly at idle. What cooler would you prefer? You don't need to undervolt to achieve 45C. Use RyzenMaster from AMD to check your temperatures. Some monitoring tools don't display Ryzen temperatures correctly.
