I checked the Steam homepage this morning and noticed Arma 3 was listed under the daily deals. At just $29.99, I felt annoyed right away. I expected it sooner—just two days before I bought it for $49.99 plus a DLC pack. It seems Lord Gaben has set up a financial trap for me. The message is clear: wait until it’s on the daily offer before purchasing.

Don't purchase until it hits a flash sale for certain titles. Castle Crashers was around $3.74, then BattleBlock Theater dropped to $1.24 and BattleBlock was about $2.40. When bundled, they totaled just over three dollars. I grabbed the bundle yesterday for just over six dollars. Seriously, STEAM! This kind of deal usually works for most discounted games. I wish I hadn't picked a Honda Civic instead of a Mazda Miata and other models.

I did something similar; I own Skyrim but wanted the DLC in the legendary edition because it was cheap. I debated for about an hour with friends before spending around 25 dollars. When I went to buy it, it refused since I already had it. Before getting really upset, I checked my library and saw I’d already received the Legendary Edition at Christmas for 8 dollars.

Don't purchase games until there are daily deals or flash sales until the final day, lol

I never purchase games at their original price; I avoid buying them right at launch, even if it means waiting months for a major discount. Those are my guidelines! For instance, I recently bought Far Cry 3 on Steam during the summer sale for about 3 to 4 €. If I had waited until the release date, the cost would have been around 60 or 70 €. I’m fine with waiting months or years for a game!

Purchase on release = high cost, launch problems, initial version, buy later on Steam = low price, completely fixed game with most DLC available. great feedback
