Today I installed the Windows 10 Anniversary update on my laptop. I wanted to adjust Cortana’s privacy settings to my liking because they can’t be turned off anymore. While doing that, I covered my task bar and figured out how to restore it. I use it often for searching files and programs, just like many others. Thanks!

Navigate to the search function by selecting your taskbar, choosing search, then displaying the search window.
