In all honesty ... Valve are in a very strange position at this stage. IF they release HL3, NO MATTER what they do it will not be able to live up to its hype. It will simply not be able to do. It may be the BEST game ever, people will find things not to like in it. YES it will make tons of money, but there is no way it won't be a disappointment in the eyes os many people. Even if its amazing.
