I intend to purchase an i7 6700K and it will probably be overclocked. Which of the CM Hyper 212 Evo or Cyborg H7 would perform better with an overclocked processor, if neither can handle it well, and what options are available without breaking the bank?

Both models manage the overclock well, but one performs marginally better than the other—getting the H7 is the best choice. The 212 EVO was excellent four years ago, but the new H7 truly stands out. I prefer the H7 over my 212evo because it cools slightly better and operates more quietly. Win-win.

If both models are similar in price, I would choose the one that is discounted at that moment. I wouldn't be willing to pay a big extra for one compared to the other.
I find the 212 EVO particularly appealing because of its compact design. It's surprisingly small despite offering good performance.
