Budget building can be exciting yet demanding. For this setup, upgrading the graphics card and increasing the overclock of the Intel chip might have been better. Typically, E samples are designed with multiplier and voltage unlock features. The i9 part number you're asking about is around E8500, which usually runs between 4.5 and 5.0 GHz.
I own the identical card in a box. It’s not up to the job anymore. Not enough VRAM for many modern games. That’s why I switch to a 2060 (my kids have an HTPC) 10900 ES chip. AND YOU got an AMD 1700? That’s a bit surprising. Sorry for that—it’s a bit shocking.
I purchased both items and received fresh motherboards for each.
I'm all set. Got the 1200, 1400, 2x Ryzen Athlon with a 2700x. Stopped me from splurging on the 3000 series chips. Running an 8700K for legacy 3D bench work. Ignore the old gear. My left side has nine motherboard boxes on a small shelf, mostly in the back room. No need for more hardware.
Hey, I’m planning a YouTube video about both CPU options. Seems like nobody has covered the i9 yet, and no one’s shown a 100 dollar 1700 setup. Thanks for the feedback!
