I'm struggling right now... The HTC Vive functioned perfectly just a month ago on both systems, but now I'm facing the same issues in all of them. As expected from the title, I'm experiencing stuttering and frequent frame timing interruptions across nearly every game. Lowering Quality Settings helps a bit by smoothing out the overall frame rate, yet the lag spikes still occur. So far, I've only played "The Climb" with the Revive Mod and Half Life Alyx; both games are behaving identically. I'm planning to test more titles, but I suspect the outcome will remain consistent. The problems appear right after launching each program. Steam VR's "Living Room?" works fine, so it's unlikely a tracking issue is involved—though I tried it in two different rooms and it didn't function there either.

System details:
- Laptop: AMD Ryzen 5600 GTX 1660 NVME SSD 16GB 3200 DDR4 RAM, Windows 10
- PC: Intel i7 12700 RTX 3060 Ti, Pcie 3.0 NVME SSD (Samsung), MSI z690 Pro DDR4 Wifi, 32GB 3600 DDR4 RAM, Windows 10

What I've tried so far:
- Mixed wired and Wi-Fi connections
- SteamVR Beta settings adjustments
- Resetting NVIDIA Global Settings and prerendering
- Tweaking Quality Mode vs Performance Mode
- Enabling/Disabling Hardware Scheduling
- Updating graphics drivers
- Reinstalling SteamVR and HTC VR drivers
- Activating motion smoothing
- Adjusting render resolution
- Disabling SS filtering
- Removing unnecessary programs
- Unplugging monitors (though my laptop didn't have multiple)
- Applying reflections on surfaces
- Looking into common fixes others have mentioned

I noticed frame timing is around 8.1 ms, but spikes up to about 26ms on the CPU. CPU temps sit near 50–55°C, GPU around 60°C, SSD at roughly 50°C with 600GB free space. The settings I've changed over the past few years are numerous—where do the "Reprojection" options hide?

I'm eager to try more games but am concerned about consistency. This is crucial for my university VR research data collection. Thank you for your help!

Thanks for coming on board. It seems the issue isn't with the hardware, but rather with the software side. Even when the HMD is disconnected and just rendering the scene, I'm still seeing smooth performance. Likely a software-related problem.
