HTC Vive or Oculus Rift?
With a bit of holiday money I’m planning to try virtual reality. The main challenge is picking the right headset. People say the Rift feels lighter and more comfortable, while the Vive has built-in movement sensors. The Vive offers room scaling, which the Rift doesn’t have. My space in my room isn’t ideal for VR movement yet, but I’d like flexibility later. The Rift is also significantly cheaper—£350 on Amazon versus £600 at Currys—which makes it more appealing. I already own Elite: Dangerous and Subnautica in VR, but I’m interested in Job Simulator, Hotdogs, Horseshoes, and Hand Grenades (available only on HTC Vive). Any advice would be helpful? Would it make sense to wait for next year’s releases? I’m eager to move forward since I’ve been waiting a long time. Thanks!
