HP Z440 rig setup
HP Z440 rig setup
Hey everyone! I built this setup with an Xeon E5 1650 v4, 16GB DDR4 ECC, a 500GB Samsung SSD, and a 2060 UHD. At 1080p with DLSS enabled in MW2, I’m only hitting around 80 FPS. I tried re-seating the GPU but it didn’t improve things. Shouldn’t I be seeing nearly double the frames? TIA
It looks like you hit a performance limitation with your current hardware. This is likely due to an older CPU designed for servers, but it still runs fine with a decent cooler. If you prefer not to invest in a new motherboard, consider these top LGA 2011 CPUs and compare their prices and suitability. Links are available on eBay and Amazon below. For some high-end models, let me know your cooler so I can recommend the best fit for you.
They must work well together with the LGA 2011 socket your CPU requires. If you're using a standard cooler, you might need a higher-quality one for the extreme models if you intend to upgrade. For best results, choose a Hyper 212 Evo with an LGA 2011 adapter or one of Noctua's options that also support the LGA 2011 connector, even though they're a bit pricier.
The information provided is incorrect. Op already possesses one of the quickest gaming CPUs, and the LGA 2011 socket includes two CPU models—2011 and 2011-v3—which are not compatible with each other.
It might boost your performance, but only if the new chipset is fully compatible and supports the latest drivers.
