I’m looking for HP specialists to offer advice. The motherboard is unavailable, so repairs might take weeks. Everything except a USB keyboard is off. I removed the OEM RAM and replaced it, but nothing changed. Tried taking all RAM out and heating the CPU, but no issue. No beep codes were heard. A spare CPU isn’t available, though the heatsink feels warm. The power button was pressed for 30 seconds without effect.
Sounds like a dead board. if it's under warranty I'd wait for HP if it's not time sensitive. Otherwise, you may be able to order the board yourself by getting one off of ebay. If there are no signs of life whatsoever, no lights or power or fans spinning it could also be the PSU which is also most likely proprietary and you'd have to wait for HP or order one off an aftermarket used part site.
Received an email today with the top estimate for a new motherboard in early April. Just a quick note—if you ever consider another HP product again, let me know ASAP!
