I've owned this HP Pavilion for some time now, and it's been showing black screen issues. My usual fix was letting it rest for a month before connecting it to another monitor, but I'm planning to replace it now and can't reach my files. Are there alternative ways to get it functioning properly besides my current approach?

Ensure the computer is disconnected from power before resetting the CMOS.

I didn't restart it, but removing one of the RAM sticks caused the system to start working again, though Windows 10 won't load anything, including the mouse cursor.
