By default it's PL1, delivering 50 watts, unless power saving is activated. The active setting is the 50-watt limit.

I adjusted it to 50W but it still doesn't reach that level.

Do you want to cap your CPU at 35W, or is it already reaching a maximum of 35W? Most laptops don’t switch to the configurable TDP-down setting to enforce a 35W turbo limit.

My CPU is locked at a high of 35W. I need to adjust it to 45W, which is the standard setting for Intel.

Verify if the BIOS includes settings for this. If not, consider adjusting the TDP in Intel XTU—provided your laptop is compatible. You might also explore Throttlestop as an alternative tool.

I already checked the BIOS settings, but the available power options are only 10W, 15W, 20W, 25W, 30W and the default. Switching to XTU or Throttlestop doesn't actually alter the TDP.

Additionally, the HP forum didn't provide much assistance.

Did you explore the ThrottleStop FIVR Disable and Lock Turbo Power Limits option? Apply the Lock setting in the TPL - Turbo Boost Power Limits area, assigning 45W for long sessions and 60W for short ones. Within the TPL window, adjust the TDP Level to 0 and enable the Lock feature. The Configurable TDP Level can be configured in several places. If the EC enforces this, you won’t be able to exceed these boundaries using ThrottleStop or any software. Should these restrictions persist, you’ll need to exit ThrottleStop, remove the configuration file, and restart your system to reset the settings. Would you like me to turn on the Log File option in ThrottleStop so you can review the issue? Please attach a log file for your next update. Too many laptops are becoming less intuitive.

I activated the Lock Turbo Power Limits, but it didn<|pad|> to not work. The TDP seems fixed, and the BIOS doesn’t offer a 45W setting.
