The laptop screen turned black after a game crash. I forced shutdown and restarted, but the screen remained dark. Fans stopped working, only backlight stayed on. It’s still connected to power. I’ve rebooted several times without fixing it.

I linked it to an external monitor and it works there, but not on my laptop.

It appears the internal screen is malfunctioning. When you restart to Windows, it seems to recognize only the external display rather than both screens.

External display and laptop screen. When Windows detects two screens, it indicates it's still attempting to send data to the laptop screen, even if nothing is visible. If only the external monitor appears, that suggests more significant problems.

With the external monitor connected, your desktop appears with your files visible and you can still move around, but when using your laptop screen it displays nothing.
