Product Name: Probook 450 G3 Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
Hello everyone, I just got this laptop and upgraded it to Windows 10. Installed HP Client Security Manager, set up fingerprint, password, PIN, etc. After a day, when I restarted the laptop, it displayed an error saying "Authentication failed." I tried entering my password again and after three attempts it still refused. Then I pressed the power button to restart and used the fingerprint instead, which said "verified" but didn’t respond. I restarted it again and tried once more, but this time the fingerprint wasn’t registered. I downloaded a recovery tool, restored it on another PC, created a recovery USB, and followed the website instructions. Unfortunately, it didn’t work. I even tried restoring the BIOS via USB, but when I followed the steps—powering on with power, connecting the USB, holding Windows key + B, and pressing the power button for 2-3 seconds—it turned on but showed no display. After about 30 to 40 seconds, the fan started at maximum speed, but nothing happened afterward.

In my experience, HPs software has often been unreliable. Double-check the BIOS setup to avoid damaging the device, and then attempt a fresh Windows installation. You mentioned you've tried restoring the BIOS, so I assume you meant updating it—how can I assist with that?

I attempted to flash it using a USB with guidance from an HP YouTube tutorial, but the fan increased instead of stopping, and I've waited over two minutes. Edited December 3, 2017 by CrazySmog16

The problem with your new Zbook 15 was resolved. You didn’t need a replacement board or laptop. Thanks!

You can try pressing the power button multiple times until it turns on, or use the manufacturer's specific recovery mode if available.

I'm experiencing the same problem too and have already attempted everything suggested by @CrazySmog16, but it's not working. Any advice or ideas would be really helpful.
