HP ENVY 15m-es0023dx installation issues not showing drives in Windows setup.
You're experiencing issues with your HP ENVY laptop. Windows won't boot, but the drive appears functional in Windows Driver Manager. The GPT-protected drive isn't showing up during installation, and F6 drivers don't seem to work. On Windows 11, selecting F6 drivers causes the installer to freeze, while Windows 10 tries to load them for extended periods before crashing. You've tried recovery tools and HP cloud installer, but nothing seems to restore it. Consider checking the physical connections, ensuring the drive is properly seated, and verifying that the BIOS/UEFI settings allow booting from the NVMe. If possible, try a different USB port or cable.
I’m setting up a fresh installation of Windows. Are you using the Windows ISO file created from the installer? If not, obtain the Windows 11 ISO and burn it onto a brand-new USB flash drive without having used the Media Creation Tool before. Power off the installer, pick your preferred language, then click Install Now followed by Custom Install. Where should Windows be installed? Choose your NVMe device and remove all existing partitions until the drive appears as unallocated space. Proceed to the next step to perform a clean installation. If the drive isn’t visible and prompts for drivers, download the IRST driver and place it on the root of the flash drive. When the installer cannot locate the drive, use the Browse button to apply the saved IRST driver. After restarting, Windows should recognize your NVMe device again.
If there’s nothing crucial you wish to retain, you can use DiskPart on the machine you’re using for testing. Go to cmd, then DiskPart, choose the disk, select it, pick clean, and finish. Check whether installation succeeds afterward.
You can turn off Intel RST in the BIOS. To install the driver properly, don't just copy it from online sources and load it. Instead, use command prompt commands to extract it. I'll include a ready-made extracted version with instructions. Unzip it and place the folder on your USB drive. When loading the driver, use the specified path: SetupRST_extracted\production\Windows10-x64\15063\Drivers\VMD SetupRST_extracted.zip
Sure, I'm using the extracted drivers instead of the executable. I'll compare them and see how they differ. I also prefer avoiding RST.
