I purchased a new laptop, but it's not using anything yet. There are many background processes consuming the 8GB of RAM. I'm considering upgrading to 2x16GB of 3200MHz RAM. Where should I look for it in Canada?

The HP laptop requires three to four small Phillips screws, typically M2 or M2.5. A basic screwdriver from a dollar store should suffice. HP doesn't employ any F-U bit types. When a screw is missing, the size and length are usually noted near the hole. To open the tabs, an old gift card or similar item can be used.

You could also use a second 8GB stick for a total of 16GB, which would likely be more cost-effective than buying another 2x16GB unit.

If they completely overhauled the board from my Pavilion to yours, it should work fine—just confirm they’re using compatible components. OEM systems often have strict requirements about the parts they accept.
