How would you determine if your 13th gen i7-13700K CPU is malfunctioning?

Just for fun or curiosity, check the bios and CPU/overclocking options. A fresh bios would have asked for your preferences, especially if water cooling was selected, as the motherboard would have automatically overclocked the CPU. If it didn’t appear, it’s likely the settings weren’t applied. Reviewing the table from the video that lutfij shared shows your bios must match those adjustments. If everything is set to auto, it probably runs higher than intended. Even simple tasks can cause the CPU to overheat if Vcore settings are incorrect.
I'm operating with the standard configuration, and no adjustments have been applied to the BIOS or Vcore parameters.
Therefore, the way it was phrased caught a lot of attention. I've actually attracted quite a crowd in response to saying this remains a problem, and naturally, the Intel community points to thousands of articles claiming the issue is resolved through BIOS or microcode updates. I don't agree, and I won't purchase a 13/14th generation processor. No one else needs to worry about my opinion or decision.
You're referring to his overclocked unit that wasn't undervolted (with manual settings) and didn't have updated microcode.
🙄
Your emotions seem to be presented as clear indicators, though you might question the lack of supporting evidence for your assertions.
The default setting doesn't guarantee safety or performance. You need to verify in the bios that the default fits within the table's limits. If the bios adjusts voltage, amps, or watts excessively, the new CPU will act similarly, prolonging your search for a fix.
If someone has an unstable system, it might indicate intel cpu degradation. Many amd systems also show this issue...
