How would you address a question about using Google Chrome on Windows 11?
Hi. I've always used Google Chrome because I didn't like IE. I have a Windows 11 computer and set Chrome as my default browser. I usually double-click a Chrome icon on my desktop. When I drag a web page to my desktop as a link, it turns into an MS Edge link. I check the default apps and see both .html and .htm are Edge. How can I adjust this setting?
Clicking on .html gives me the option to "Try it out" or "Switch anyway." I chose to change anyway and selected Chrome, but the desktop icons still show as Edge browser shortcuts?
Is this a none starter for me? TIA Desmond.
Switch to Google in Chrome settings. This should fix the problem.

I don't understand what you're referring to by outlook. I don't have an outlook for my office or home, and I've set Chrome as my default browser. One thing is that in the UK, when I opened the Tesco link, it worked in Edge. When I went to my shopping order, it showed me many discounts and vouchers, which didn't seem to come from Tesco itself.
the second quote from my previous message is more probable. Windows only employs the browser in certain situations. If you access a link from desktop it could utilize Edge. do you have any tool similar to malwarebytes that you can use to scan your pc, as there might be some malware present?
