How well the Diablo 4 servers perform?
Thinking about purchasing this game, I'm curious about how players are managing server access every day and other related issues. Thanks!
Not bad in my view. At first there were some DDoS problems, login issues, and random disconnects, but those have mostly been fixed. The servers haven't had any big issues lately, though I still remember the new game was a bit of a surprise.
I play regularly, not every day, mainly because of work, but I haven't faced any server problems recently.
The game gets repetitive at the end of each season; you have to create a new character to access seasonal content. You can keep your old one, but it won’t get the new stuff. Some players seem to dislike this approach, which is how D3 was designed, so it makes sense for D4.
The game runs smoothly too, doesn't require a top-end system. My Vega 64 with an older Xeon e5-2470 can handle this one well at ultra wide resolution.
I think it's worth the cost, though I've always been a Diablo fan—some people disagree, so it's more opinion-based.
Good luck!
Sorry for the slow reply: my email inbox got cluttered and I missed seeing my message.
Anyway, my PCs are on the lower end but still gaming laptops—playing should be fine based on specs, and I’ve easily reached 16GB of memory. The biggest challenge is graphics, using a Nvidia Geforce GTX-1650 Max-Q Design; my older machine has a Nvidia 1660 TI (probably), and I’m not sure which is better since I recently started console gaming and lost a lot of knowledge.
I really enjoy Diablo, even 3 was solid for about four years after some improvements. But I stopped playing except for a few moments.
Diablo Immortal is a good game for me—the microtransactions bother me, so it’s not my favorite.
Moving from WoW 2005 to Diablo 4 feels like a step forward; it’s an MMORPG with action combat, which suits me. Still, I’m getting tired of tab target MMOs and prefer New World instead.
Hope it runs smoothly for you—my usual settings are 1080p Low for better FPS.
It supports ultra wide, though few do. I mostly use a 1080p TV since my brother loves his 1440p LG monitor; I gave him mine (though I’m not sure if that’s too much).
Thanks for confirming the servers—DDoS attacks are common with Blizzard, especially in my past with WoW, so it’s normal.
Cheers!
I enjoy high settings and perform well with 100-200fps at 3440x1440. On a GTX 1650, I expect smooth gameplay at medium to high settings in 1080p. The main concern is the older CPU, which might strain a standard laptop with quad-core processors, but it should still handle the game reasonably well. A few friends with GTX 1650 have reported success with this title.
A 1660ti can run the game at full capacity in 1080p and possibly even 1440p, offering significantly better performance than the 1650. If your setup matches that, you should face minimal issues—just ensure your video drivers are up to date for optimal results.
