Purchased the new Gigabyte B450M DS3Hv2 with a functional SMPS (verified by shorting the pins on the 24-pin connector and confirming the SMPS fan starts). Connected 24-pin and 8-pin connectors, installed 8GB DDR4 Kingston RAM without a processor. After that, shorted the motherboard power pins and nothing happened—no fan spin or beeps. How can I confirm the motherboard is still operational? The manual suggests checking for any system sounds or signals, especially since the module lacks an onboard speaker. Power connectors show 5.1V DC. Please follow the guide to ensure proper functionality. LINK MOBO LINK MOBO MANUAL

It’s hard to be certain the board is dead without all the parts working. I’m not trying to sound rude, but you definitely need a CPU.
