How to verify if all components support PCIe 4.0 or 3.0?
How to verify if all components support PCIe 4.0 or 3.0?
Sure, I check whether the PCIE version increases during the test window.
It seems likely it operates at reduced bandwidth when the system is in desktop idle mode.
It seems your system is configured for PCIe 5.0 NVMe, which reduces the available lanes to your GPU. Even though it runs on PCIe 4.0, only half of the lanes are being used. If you can switch the NVMe slot to PCIe 4.0 mode, that should resolve the issue. Intel models with PCIe 5.0 support for NVMe draw from CPU lanes, which is a design choice but something motherboard manufacturers need to accommodate.
Is there a suggested utility similar to cpu-z but for storage devices, such as an nvme-z?
Or can you tell me how to configure my nvme to operate exclusively on pcie 4.0?
According to the manual, previous information about SSD checking has been referenced: https://forums.
I noticed
my graphics card went to say
PCIe x16 4.0 @ x8 4.0
in gpu-z when I did the render test
Perhaps that's acceptable for a graphics card?
I'm not sure if it would even make use of higher bandwidth.
But maybe it's best to keep everything in PCIe 4.0 at the highest level if possible
So I will check setting the NVMe to 4.0 in the BIOS
Move the drive from the CPU's M.2 port to the chipset's M.2 port manually, not by adjusting BIOS settings.
Unless Asus is misrepresenting the details on the specifications page and in their manual, this might be inaccurate.
