How to verify cable compatibility
Hello
I shared a problem with my 4090 using cables from another brand, along with CPU cables. Still, I have a different question—how can I find compatible cables? My power supply is a "Thermaltake toughpower grand rgb 1050w platinum." When I look up the exact model online, nothing comes up easily. I own another Thermaltake, but it's a toughpower gf 850 gold. Would using the PCI-E cables from that device work? I haven't tried it yet, but if I'm lucky, my system shouldn't fail since the wrong cables didn't power it on before and it seems to start normally once removed.
Thank you! I realize now what I did wrong, so please give me honest feedback!

There is no need to create separate cables for 1050W and 850W PSUs. You may use identical cables as long as they are from TT or certified compatible.
I understand, that should be fine.
I’m sure my earlier error didn’t cause any significant issues.
Before linking any unidentified cables to your GPU, obtain a multimeter, adjust it to the 20V DC range and verify the pins for the appropriate voltage (12V or 0V) on the relevant pins. You may rely on the original cable from the PSU as a reference, or look up the pin configuration online.
