How to use OGSSAA?
I received a new PC with a 1440p monitor. For many games, the frame rate is too high. I tried the method from the link you shared to boost visual quality. After entering 4K resolution and pressing Test, the screen clears properly but then returns to normal without any improvement. I’m not sure what to do next.
You might want to look at the forum discussions Luke references. I recall trying this earlier, but it didn’t look very good, and I stopped using it afterward.
You can turn on DSR in the 3D settings of your NVIDIA control panel. It reduces the game's resolution to a lower level. For instance, with a 1080p screen, you might set the in-game resolution to 4K and it will effectively downscale it.
DSR relies on the monitor's native display size. Adjusting the settings is simpler with a blur option to hide issues from lower resolutions and downscaling. The main issue is fixed multipliers tied to the monitor's aspect ratio (for example, 16:10 or 4:3 screens can't support 16:9 resolutions needed for YouTube). Standard downscaling lets you pick any resolution with any refresh, but its range depends solely on your monitor.
