I bought a lifetime Office Professional 2021 license and got the product key. I downloaded the Setup exe and ran it, thinking it would automatically upgrade my 2019 Office. It didn't work, so I removed both the 2019 and 2021 versions, restarted the system, and reinstalled the 2021 setup file. When opening Excel, it still shows that I'm using 2019. How can this be if I uninstalled it? And why can't I access 2021? When scrolling through installed apps, neither of them appears. Only an Office 365 logo appears, suggesting something related to Office 365. It doesn't make sense here. Please help and thank you!

Stack Social covered an article from CNET. It's accurate. The offer remains valid for a few more days. The C|NET piece highlighted a significant Microsoft Office deal, allowing savings of 91% on a lifetime license.

Office Pro 2021 is available for $40? 'Legit'? I don't mind who posted it...that doesn't seem legitimate.

when purchasing a license key online without a physical CD, and it wasn't sent via Microsoft's official email, it's likely not genuine.

You received a grey market, probably OEM, license. It's clear this item was significantly more expensive than your purchase price.

And the "license key" you bought seems to be different from what you expected.

microsoft support live chat,
they are able to assist you with your genuine license.

Oh, that makes sense. Also, I'm starting to grasp how it functions. Previously, I would download Office from a CD using a product key. Now, by clicking on my account in Office, I have access to licenses for both 2019 and 2021 that I can use interchangeably. Fascinating.
