Checking for BIOS updates is straightforward. Your motherboard requires an update before installing Vermer CPUs, as mentioned by PCpp.

It might not be necessary depending on when the board stopped working. They usually come with a BIOS update that works with Zen 3, but since these parts were made before the release, you could still find one that hasn’t been used long enough to need the fix. Regardless, this board supports flashback functionality—just read the manual for details. Typically, you’ll need to download the BIOS update from the manufacturer, save it to a USB drive, insert it into the motherboard’s USB port, and press a button. Power only needs to be supplied to the board; installing new CPU or RAM isn’t needed for flashback.

I’d like to save versions of the guide for each vendor’s BIOS flash buttons. That way you can copy and paste them easily. If you miss any steps, we can clarify them here.

Did you attach a link or any media? It seems like the content is just text, possibly from a Kindle book. There appears to be some confusion about the format.

When the motherboard lacks a BIOS flashback function, locate a USB drive. Format it using FAT32 or exFAT—FAT32 is typically more suitable due to its simplicity and age. Extract the downloaded files into the root directory of your USB stick. Access the BIOS by pressing DEL, F2, or another key listed in the manual. Navigate to the BIOS update section and select the USB file from the list. Confirm your choice and wait 1-2 minutes for the update to complete. If your motherboard supports BIOS flashback, consult its manual for the exact steps. Usually, it involves preparing a USB stick (often formatted as FAT32) and saving the BIOS file with a specific name, such as bios.rom or msi.bios. The manual usually guides you through this process. This method relies on a small embedded processor on the motherboard to read the BIOS from the USB port and update it directly, avoiding the need for a CPU in the socket. Because of its low cost and limited processing power, it can only handle small files (around 16-32 MB) and may take several minutes—sometimes up to ten—for the update. Be patient and let it run its course.
