Typically the measurement is in MHz, not voltage - that's what I remember.

Hey everyone, just finished setting up my first PC. I noticed the temperatures are a bit too high when it's running at full load (100°C). I adjusted the voltage down by -0.050 and restarted, but the system didn’t boot up. My thoughts were on updating the BIOS, and guess what? It actually worked! Now I’m curious—why did that happen? I have an M.2 SSD with a Z690 motherboard, DDR4 13600K memory, and an Arctic LF ii 280 cooler.

That’s likely the reason behind it.

I understand you're experiencing issues with high temperatures despite the cooler environment, and you're wondering if the low voltage setting might be causing the system to fail to start.

Have you experimented with using lite load in your BIOS instead of the undervolt feature? It’s an MSI tool that streamlines the process, though it will keep your voltage and temperatures elevated by default. I own a 13600k with an MSI Edge Z690. By setting lite load to 1, I lowered temperatures in Cinebench from 84 to 61 and saw a small boost in performance. For stability, I’m happy with the gameplay and productivity at this level. The standard lite load is usually 12—just tweak it down and test again.
