How to Twitch?
Hey there! It sounds like you're excited to start streaming. You've got a solid setup already—good PC, decent mic, and a decent webcam. For the best broadcast app, it depends on what you plan to stream, but popular options include OBS Studio, Streamlabs, or Twitch. Since you mentioned games like League of Legends, Shadow of Mordor, and Skyrim, pick the one that fits your content style. Good luck!
Due to all the options, I go with Studio. When I upgrade the mic and webcam later, I’ll be streaming soon.
Your equipment and link? Don't push too hard for streaming. Aim for 720p at 30fps, with a bitrate between 2000 and 2700. If you have a second screen, use it to watch the stream and chat. Also, if you can connect another device (like a laptop, phone, or tablet), check the stream quality there to help with setup.
I own a laptop equipped with an additional monitor. It has an i7 6700hq processor, 16GB DDR4 RAM, and a GTX 960M graphics card. My download and upload speeds exceed 100 Mbps, and my ping stays below 4ms. I believe my hardware and network setup are solid.
You might not think so, but 720p works well for the beginning. You should adjust the bitrate if you want a higher quality. On Twitch it's tricky because only partners can change the scaling settings. In real terms, your audience has to match your upload speed with their download speed.
