How to troubleshoot the Lenovo 720-18ASU. AMD 7 1700 8 core 3ghz model 90H10004US
Hey everyone. I'm trying to figure out how to get my AMD 7 1700 8 core CPU running better on my Lenovo 720-18ASU model (model 90H10004US). The BIOS doesn't show any overclocking options, but I'm not sure what else I can do. Any advice or suggestions would be really helpful! Thanks!
Your system cannot be overclocked. It uses the OEM B300 chipset.
However, there are ways to enhance performance.
#1 and most important is to upgrade your RAM to dual-channel with two matching sticks.
Using a single stick can lower performance by 10-30%, depending on software or game.
Monitor CPU temperature; most OEM systems keep the processor near maximum for quieter operation.
On Ryzen processors, maintaining a cooler temperature allows higher boosts. Adding a case fan or replacing the built-in cooler fan is an alternative if temperatures are high.

Thank you very much. Appreciate the assistance...no software adjustments needed? Cheers
You can check the bios for temperature control settings. If your bios has it, it will be limited.
You can also try speed fan. It is older software and works for a lot of oem motherboards but not all.
