Experiencing significant low frame rates in certain games despite my PC being capable of running them smoothly. Currently, the only titles I've encountered this problem with are Slime Rancher, PC Building Sim, and Subnautica on Epic Games and Warhammer Vermintide 2 on Steam (though platform might matter). I haven't explored many other games beyond these. Attached are some screenshots showing the game in action along with various apps to assist in identifying the cause. I've adjusted in-game settings, modified display configurations, updated NVIDIA control panel options, and switched the installation location to my SSD, yet results remain unchanged. Any advice on diagnosing or resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated!

What temperature is the CPU reaching? Is XMP activated within the BIOS settings?

Thanks for getting back. The CPU temperatures are within normal ranges, not exceeding 40°C or 100°F during 5 minutes of gameplay. I didn’t have XMP enabled when taking the screenshots, but I did now and still haven’t seen an improvement. When reviewing the temperatures, I noticed significant changes in CPU utilization, using only two threads. Could this be the cause? Please share more screenshots showing temperatures and utilization in both states.

Restart the system and allow a short period, then execute UBM with the browser minimized. Share the outcome link. Are you using a FPS limiter such as gsync or vsync for your monitors?

the updated ubm is now running after the reboot, with the browser closed and the max frame rate restriction disabled in the nvidia control panel.

Did you pause for a few minutes after the restart before executing UBM? If yes, you likely had many background processes active. Check your startup group and consider simplifying it.

I believe these games are mostly focused on one thread. Check the CPU-Z benchmark results to see the single-thread performance. It should be approximately 505: http://valid.x86.fr/bench/9ni5rz

Yeah, I waited a few minutes. Turned off everything except my antivirus and it's the new UBM. Here are the CPU-Z bench results, which are a bit under 505. Also, Subnautica and Warhammer Vermintide 2 are old games I've played before on this system, so it's strange they're having this issue now.

What does "all of a sudden" mean?
What could have altered things after everything was fine?
Might there have been a virus or malware infection?
Could a poor update have been released?
Maybe you should attempt using system restore to revert to the state before everything changed.

All of a sudden probably wasn't the best words to use since the last time i played games was probably 3-4 months ago so it could have happened anywhere from now to then. Virus or malware is a possibility but I do make sure to scan regularly and always keep my antivirus running and scan everything that I download. But something could always slip through the cracks. The only things that have changed since things were good are that i've downloaded and installed new software for university(Ansys, horizon and citrix to remote into uni systems) and also got a new GPU (i did test my old GPU again and still the same issues). I also don't have any backup or restore points to go to so I'd have to do a complete format and reinstallation so it'll be the last thing i try.
