My PC stopped working suddenly while I was using 2k, and when I tried to restart it, it wouldn't come back on and just flashes for a second. After checking the issue over a day, I removed my GPU and the system started normally again. How can I better check my GPU? Is there a possibility the problem is with the power supply unit?

What are the complete specs for this system (make/model of ALL installed components)?
These sorts of issues are often NOT the GPU, but the PSU. Be sure to tell us how old the PSU is, as well.

Consider testing a different quality PSU. This should likely resolve the issue.

As COLGeek mentioned, ensure it's a high-quality PSU.

When feasible, try running the GPU on a different PC without an integrated graphics card in the CPU, as this helps determine if it functions correctly.

Also verify the PSU for any burnt odor.

Is this PSU sufficient for a quality steampunk setup?

Based on your luck, a no name PSU might last you several years, while a top tier PSU could fail in just two and take the rest of the system with it. However, the likelihood of either outcome is quite low.
If you wish for a reliable PSU, consult the PSU section for suggestions.
