I purchased a YUMQUA Y-01 Portable Mini Finger Hand Held 4D USB Wired Trackball Mouse. It appears this model has two holes on either side of the ball. I managed to use a paper clip to loosen the case, but I couldn't fully remove it to reach the area where the ball is located inside the device. Could there be a specialized tool for unscrewing that part? I imagine something like tweezers might be needed, though I'm unsure of the exact name or design. The paper clip only provided partial success due to insufficient strength when trying to apply pressure.

It is identical to the process used ten years ago when removing the ball for mice. Once you rotate the outer housing that secures the ball, you must turn the mouse to release the mount so it can be removed under the pressure of the mouse ball.

We ended up needing to use scissors. The inside was quite messy, even after just a few months of use, which likely made it hard to remove. Issue resolved.
