Hey, I see you're looking for ways to remove the marked section at the bottom or prevent automatic expansion. You can either keep the top items visible while hiding the bottom ones, or stop the automatic expansion when you're viewing folders in the center area. Let me know which option you prefer!

In Explorer Options -> Display, uncheck "Expand to current folder" as the second-to-last item.

Explorer doesn’t allow full removal of just the lower directory, yet you can disable automatic expansion. Switch to Options → View → Navigation pane. Uncheck “Expand to open folder” so all folders appear. Keep Quick Access visible and prevent drives/folders from auto-expanding during browsing.

In this PC view is set as the default File Explorer → Options → Open File Explorer. That keeps Quick Access visible at the top and prevents it from being scrolled off. For a more permanent fix, programs like OldNewExplorer or Winaero Tweaker can better control the navigation pane than the built-in Explorer. Unfortunately, there’s no built-in option to fully lock Quick Access, so you’ll need a third-party adjustment or accept Explorer’s default behavior.
