How to resolve issues after a CPU swap?
It keeps crashing even with just one stick, and trying both options didn’t fix it. Would replacing the memory module solve the issue? I’m considering getting a new motherboard instead. Changing every other part didn’t help.
Because the motherboard is working and Windows is loading, it’s probably not the main problem.
Other than the GPU, I’d have tested a different memory module before making changes.
RAM can be affected by static electricity—remember to ground yourself when handling it, right?
Does the system experience crashes when connected to the 1050 TI with the 2200G?
Are you using the GPU’s HDMI output or its DisplayPort?
Following your recent CMOS reset, please specify any UEFI settings you’re adjusting before starting Windows.
Yes, I perform these actions before and during any operation inside the case.
No, it doesn't happen beforehand. Issues began only after swapping the CPU.
HDMI connection remains stable; no settings were altered post-CMOS reset on initial boot, but crashes persist.
I experimented with various PBO configurations—XMP off, PBO off, PBO off - XMP on—but the system still crashes randomly, sometimes after a few minutes and sometimes within an hour when idle, often immediately during gameplay.
No further advanced settings have been adjusted beyond these tests.
Disable CSM support. Restart Windows 11. Keep PBO and EXPO/XMP disabled.
Once the new processor arrived and issues began, I installed a new drive with a fresh Windows 11 without CSM support, but it didn't resolve the problem. Should I try reinstalling it again?
Always keep CSM support turned off for current operating systems.
If Windows 11 starts while CSM support is active, something is wrong.
Make sure you're not using MBR mode during installation; GPT will be used instead.
When CSM support is disabled, the system will default to GPT.
Edit: The choice between GPT/UEFI (non-CSM) or MBR/Legacy (CSM) depends on the installation media. Refer to the following post for details.
Apologies for any trouble caused.
Please note the requirement to mention GPT - UEFI (non CSM) when setting up your Windows Install drive. This detail should be included as emphasized in the image below. If you're employing rufus, the instructions remain consistent.
I've reinstalled Windows 11 without turning on CSM and installed all the drivers. I also purchased new RAM and swapped it in to eliminate any issues from my previous ones. Still, the problem persisted.
