How to remove Xfinity Mobile HotSpot and Xfinity WiFi from a PC
PC / Windows 10 here.
Purchased a 30-day Xfinity hotspot offer; used it once before closing the account.
Yet the Xfinity Mobile HotSpot and WiFi connections still appear in the connection pop-up (attached image); the HotSpot option insists on "Connect Automatically," and unchecking it doesn’t change anything.
Issue:
Finding a way to disable or remove these connections requires logging into the Xfinity account and navigating through their processes.
Issue:
Cancelling the account without realizing I should have insisted on deletion makes it impossible to log in to the account I had… figure it out.
Issue:
Adjusting Network & Internet settings to manage these connections doesn’t make them visible for management.
Search through REGEDIT to clean up any Xfinity entries, but they aren’t found.
Comcast keeps its well-known "excellent" (snort) customer service.
(Sorry, this site lacks an Attach an Image option)
Any advice on removing these connections?
Device Manager -> Network Adapters
Check if they appear there. If present, disable and then uninstall them from there.
Upload the picture to the net, for example www.imgur.com, and share it here.
Avoid interacting with the Registry.
Registry modifications should only be tried after ensuring a complete system backup that encompasses the registry.
